Travis Kelcehas no problem taking the backseat toTaylor Swift's shine.
The 36-year-old NFL star announced his engagement to the “So High School” singer in August 2025 and is well aware that the Grammy winner is the better-known person between them.
“As two guys who are also of the plus one fraternity and have the same experience, how nice is it to be the less famous person in your relationship?” Travis asked comedianColin Joston the Wednesday, May 13 episode of his and brother Jason Kelce'sNew Heightspodcast.
Jost, who married actressScarlett Johanssonin 2020, called the uneven power dynamic a “huge relief.”
However, Jost noted that his wife's stardom has an unexpected effect on his own public interactions.
“It's really funny because I think I'm probably almost approached more because she's less approachable,” Jost said. “Because I'm on TV… people are just like, I'm in their living room, so they were just like, ‘Hey, what's up, man? How's going?' She's actually almost. like, so famous that they don't believe it a lot of times.”
Jost shared that they've been at customs doing a passport check when the officer said, “Has anyone ever told you you look like Scarlet Johansson?” saying that the question was “genuine.”
“He's like, ‘It would be weirder if itwasher,' and just give it back to her,” Jost said, before adding, “It's really kind of awesome.”
Travis agreed, saying, “Shout out to the plus ones out there!”
Acknowledging Travis' romance with Swift, 36, Jost said, “I feel like we can commiserate.”

Jost did note that there was one downside to his A-list marriage to Johansson.
“It was hard as a standup,” Jost admitted of his comedy career, adding, “because I would have jokes about either the idea of dating or the idea of marriage or what that is. I can't be like, ‘She's nagging me about this!' Everyone's like, ‘Shut the f--- up!' It eliminated that part of standup.”

Travis has been open about his love of cheering his lady love on in the past. In an Aug. 2025interview withGQ,the Kansas City Chiefs star said, “I get to be the plus one. I get to go and be that fan. Because I am a fan."
He continued, "I'm a fan of music. I'm a fan of art. And it's so cool that I get to experience her being that plus one for me on the football field…. I feel that same enjoyment every time she comes to my shows.”
The athlete also noted at the time that the pair have found lots of commonality in their professional lives.
“I hadn't experienced somebody in the same shoes as me, having a partner who understands the scrutiny, understands the ups and downs of being in front of millions,” Travis said.
“That was very relatable, seeing how exhausted she would get after shows," he added. "She may not think of herself as an athlete. She will never tell anyone that she is an athlete. But I've seen what she goes through. I've seen the amount of work that she puts on her body, and it's mind-blowing.”
