Kimberly Herbert Gregory on 'Vice Principals'
Kimberly Hébert Gregory, who starred as Dr. Belinda Brown on HBO's Vice Principals, died on Friday, October 3. She was 52.
Hébert Gregory's ex-husband and fellow actor Chester Gregory announced the news on social media, sharing a tribute to the actress.
"Kimberly Hébert Gregory / You Were Brilliance Embodied, / A Black Woman Whose Mind Lit Every Room, / Whose Presence Carried Both Fire And Grace," he wrote. "You Taught Us Lessons In Courage, / In Artistry, In Resilience, / And In How To Keep Showing Up, / Even When Life Demanded More Than Its Share."
Praising her as an actress and a friend, he added, "Thank You, Kimberly / For Every Chapter We Shared. / Your Story Was Never Defined By The Battle / But By The Beauty You Carried Through It."
No cause of death or additional details were disclosed.
Representatives for Hébert Gregory did not immediately respond to Entertainment Weekly's request for comment.

Hébert Gregory was also remembered by her Vice Principals costar Walton Goggins, who mourned the loss on Instagram.
"We lost one of the best yesterday. One of the best I've ever worked with, " he wrote beside a carousel of photos. "Kimberly Hebert Gregory. I had the honor... the good fortune of getting to know, getting to spend months working with this Queen on Vice Principals. She made me laugh like no other. A professionals professional. A gatdamn SOPRANO that never missed a note. You will be missed my friend. As much as you know."
Busy Philipps, who also starred on the two-season comedy, wrote, "Oh my god I'm devastated to hear this. She was a light and a force. She will be missed."
Born on Dec. 7, 1972, in Houston, Hébert starred in dozens of notable projects throughout her career. After graduating from Houston's High School for Performing and Visual Arts and attending Mount Holyoke College and then the University of Chicago, she appeared in multiple Chicago Theatre Company productions. In 1998, she was nominated for best supporting actress in a play at the Joseph Jefferson Awards Equity Branch for her performance in Shakin' the Mess Outta Misery.
Her first onscreen credits came in 2007, with a small role in the Kerry Washington and Chris Rock comedy, I Think I Love My Wife, and a brief appearance in the Gossip Girl pilot. Many more TV credits would follow, including roles in New Amsterdam, Grey's Anatomy, Two and a Half Men, Law & Order, Shameless, and The Big Bang Theory.

After a recurring gig on Devious Maids, she booked her breakthrough role as the fiery principal of North Jackson High School in Vice Principals, starring alongside Goggins, Philipps, Danny McBride, Georgia King, and Shea Whigham. The comedy ran for two seasons.

Gregory continued her success with lead roles on Kevin (Probably) Saves The World, Every Other Weekend, Genius: Aretha, and Jessica's Big Little World. On Craig of the Creek, she voiced the titular character's mother, Nicole Williams. She also appeared on Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Better Call Saul, Stumptown, The Act, The Chi, and Medical Police.
She is survived by her ex-husband and their son.
