Sunny Anderson is keeping things light despite some bittersweet news.
The longtime Food Network star had a humorous reaction to the announcement that The Kitchen — the weekend cooking and talk show she's cohosted for more than a decade — will officially end this December after 40 seasons.
In an Instagram Story shared on Tuesday, October 21, Anderson responded to a fan who wrote, "Those Kitchen mugs are collector items now! Can't wait to see what's next for you on Food Network!" The 50-year-old agreed, joking, "Happy I 'stole' them from set to share."

A few stories prior, she showed off a congratulatory bouquet of flowers she received from Food Network, reading the note aloud: "Congrats on a successful run!" Anderson smiled, replying in the clip, "That's what I'm talking about. Y'all sweet, super sweet."😋😋SIGN UP to get delicious recipes, handy kitchen hacks & more in our daily Pop Kitchen newsletter🍳🍔
Earlier that day, the Sunny's Kitchen author posted a message on Instagram to mark the end of the show's run. "For such a loud, talkative chick, I have 2 words… Thank you!" she wrote on Instagram, reflecting on her 12-year tenure as cohost alongside Katie Lee Biegel, Jeff Mauro, Geoffrey Zakarian, and guest host Alex Guarnaschelli.
Her fellow cohosts also took to social media to share their gratitude. Biegel called the show's end "the end of an era," writing, "The Kitchen was the greatest professional honor of my life and I will be forever grateful." Mauro reflected on his time cooking and laughing with the group, calling them his "best friends" and adding, "I didn't expect to feel this sad, but my optimism for what lies ahead outweighs the sadness."
When The Kitchen premiered in January 2014, it quickly became a weekend staple for viewers who loved a mix of food, fun, and friendly conversation. Over the next decade, the Emmy-nominated series produced more than 40 seasons and became one of Food Network's longest-running hits. Its final episode will air on December 13, 2025.
