Following the death of her beloved family dog, Mae, Martina McBride has welcomed a new puppy into the family. The country music superstar introduced fans to the new addition, named Bear, on Friday, October 24, telling them she is "head over heels in love."
Taking to Instagram, the "Concrete Angel" singer, 59, shared a carousel of photos featuring her and her family's new four-legged friend getting settled into his new home. The snapshots reveal Bear as a teeny Yorkie breed that's already looking very comfortable in his new digs.

"Well, it's time to introduce you to Bear," McBride captioned alongside the series of images. "We have had him since July, and we are all head over heels in love."
"He is suuuuuper sweet and cuddly. He doesn't really like me to be out of his sight, which we are working on," the '90s country icon added before revealing the weight of the furry friend. "Luckily, at 2.7 pounds, he is easy to take everywhere. He should get to be about 5.5 pounds, but we will see."
McBride, a dog lover who has owned a few pet pups, also shared that Bear belongs to the same father as her other Yorkie, Finn.
"He is Finn's half-brother (same dad) and he was born the morning after Mae passed," she wrote. "You can see how much he's changed by swiping through these pictures. Lots more pictures to come. He's the best boy. #yorkie #puppy #bear."
Fans and followers have already taken to the comments section of McBride's post to share their excitement over the sweet companion.
"What a beautiful little boy," one person wrote, while another follower added, "Oh my goodness, Bear is adorable..so tiny! 🐶🥰 The fact that he is Finn's half-brother…and the timing of Mae's passing…so special. 🥹💞."
"He's so cute I can't stand it!" A third person said. "Yorkies are the best! He'll bring you so much joy. ❤️."
In September, Martina McBride Said Goodbye to Her Dog, Mae
Last month, McBride announced the passing of her dog, Mae, a Maltipoo, whom she lost on May 5. In an Instagram post, which included several photos of the sweet family friend, she told readers the beloved pet had been dealing with "heart issues and was having trouble breathing" before her unfortunate death.
"It's taken me a while to write this, but we lost our sweet Mae on May 5th. I guess it's just taken some time to feel like it wouldn't be rushed. She had heart issues and was having trouble breathing, so John and I took her to the vet around 3:00 am," she wrote. "They wanted to keep her, and so we said goodnight and came home."

"They had her in an oxygenated crate. They called early the next morning and said she had passed. Part of me wishes I had brought her home with me. But then I know if I did that, I would feel like I should have left her at the vet," McBride continued. "It wasn't necessarily unexpected…she hadn't seemed great for weeks and she was on a lot of medication….but still you're never ready. She was one of a kind. Sassy and sweet…she was so loved. And she gave us so much in return. We love you, Mae. #maltipoo."
