Newcastle WILL host Euro 2028 matches, as plans for a new stadium will not impact on St James' Park's involvement in the tournament, Confidential can reveal. There had been suggestions that a new build on Leazes Park could overlap the current site, and that would lead to doubt over the ability to host the European Championship when it comes to the UK and Ireland in three years' time. However, Confidential revealed last week that the plans the club are currently pushing ahead with - a new super stadium of around 65,000 capacity - are further into Leazes Park.
