Padel tennis is experiencing a staggering boom in the United Kingdom, with Britons playing the racquet sport for an estimated 5,280 hours per day according to a new study. The sport - which is played on a smaller court and with solid racquets - has seen a meteoric rise since its invention by a Mexican businessman in the 1960s. At present, there are more than 500 courts across the country, but year-on-year more are being built as padelmania sweeps across the UK and beyond.
