Hardy stars in the series alongsideHelen Mirren,Pierce Brosnanand others.MobLandfollows Brosnan's character, the "head of an organized crime family," as he fights "for power within a global crime syndicate," per a synopsis. It keeps up with two mob families who clash. As for Hardy, he appears as fixer and family associate Harry Da Souza. After the series premiered in March 2025, Paramount+announced three months laterthat it was renewed for a second season.
Butterworth said in a statement at the time that while TV was a "brand-new world" for him and he was "reluctant to commit to a TV [series] overall," those he worked with "completely changed my perspective with their bold creative vision and razor-sharp strategic insight."
Speaking withParadein April 2025, Hardy said working with Brosnan, 73, and Mirren, 80, was "wonderful" and that he "always admired" their work.
"To be able to watch them do something I think they’re brilliant in and to be part of that experience is fantastic," he said. "They’re great, brilliant actors. Super talented, and they’ve done so much great work. It’s an absolute joy to be able to work with Pierce and Helen."
Comparing filming movies and TV, Hardy added that he got to "cover more ground" in the same amount of time on set ofMobLand. "I prefer the speed of a television shoot in many respects because you don’t do things over and over and over and over and over and over and over again and then refine them and then over and over and over," he said. "[On TV], we’re just different. They’re different experiences."
