PFL's Dakota Ditcheva ends Ronda Rousey fandom after 'disgraceful' comment

Ronda Rouseyhas one less fan going into Saturday's MMA return against Gina Carano.

USA TODAY

Undefeated PFL contender Dakota Ditcheva (15-0), who has praised Rousey (12-2) in the past as one of her inspirations for getting into the sport, thinks the UFC Hall of Famer was insensitive and went too far with her comments aboutKhamzat Chimaevat Thursday's pre-fight press conference for her bout with Gina Carano (7-1).

After Chimaev said Rousey was ungrateful for what UFC did for her following a months-long verbal assault on the company leading into the bout with Carano at Intuit Dome in Inglewood, Calif. (Netflix), "Rowdy" clapped back with a vicious tirade, calling the former UFC middleweight champ a"cleft-lip Lincoln,"among other words.

That particular comment didn't sit well with Ditcheva, who sent a critical social media message to Rousey on Friday and said she no longer sees her in the same light (viaX):

"@RondaRousey's comment towards Chimaev regarding his cleft palate was absolutely disgraceful. I am no longer a fan. As a mother, you should know better. The amount of young children navigating difficulties like that while you sit on a worldwide stage mocking it. Do better."

Rousey has been a polarizing figure since announcing her return to MMA competition for her first fight since December 2017. Regardless, she will step back into the cage Saturday against Carano, who hasn't fought since 2007, atRousey vs. Carano.

Ditcheva, for her part, has no fight scheduled at this time after being forced to withdraw from a February PFL fightdue to injury.
