Allen, who played Texas in the 2016-2017 season under coach Shaka Smart, averaged 13.4 points and 8.4 rebounds per game in Austin. Texas finished a disastrous 11–22 that year and he entered the 2017 NBA Draft where he was picked No. 22 by theBrooklyn Nets. He's been in Cleveland since 2021.
In Game 7 against theToronto Raptors, Allen took over. Especially on the offensive glass, grabbing 19 rebounds that led to easy put-backs. He scored a team high 22 points on 7-of-11 shooting.
