Colorado state tennis scores, live updates for Fort Collins players

The Colorado high school girls tennis individual state championships stat run May 7-9 across three classifications.

And Fort Collins-area high school tennis players will be well represented across the state, withseven local schools combining to qualify over 40 players and nearly 30 total lines.

The Class 5A state tournament is at Denver Tennis Park, the 4A tournament is at Pueblo City Park and the 3A tournament is held in Colorado Springs at Memorial Park.

The three-day event starts May 7 with first round and quarterfinals, followed by playbacks and semifinals on May 8 before finals and third-place matches May 9. Play begins at 9 a.m. each day, weather permitting.

Rocky Mountain qualifies seven lines for 5A state

The Lobos cruised to a home regional title in 5A Region 4 action at CSU, with Rocky sending all seven lines to state for the third straight year.

Here are the Lobos' opening-round matchups in the 5A tournament:

  • No. 1 singles: Emma Praver vs. Joylanae Barnhill (Doherty)

  • No. 2 singles: Faith Galyardt vs. Kristina Harms (Fairview)

  • No. 3 singles: Ainsley Cunningham vs. Jessica Muslow (Legend)

  • No. 1 doubles: Lucia Johnson/Hannah Schneider vs. Colette Konrath/Charlotte Cardosa (Broomfield)

  • No. 2 doubles: Neena Wittemeyer/Lillian Pighetti vs. Zoe Hochstadt/Ashley Geoghegan (Cherry Creek)

  • No. 3 doubles: Abby Duran/Isa Bekas vs. Kate Decker/Sophia Baig (Ralston Valley)

Rocky was also the No. 6 seed in the 5A team bracket, beating No. 11 Heritage (4-3) before falling 5-2 to No. 3 Valor Christian.

Fossil Ridge has all seven lines at 5A state

The SaberCats also won a regional title for the sixth straight year, winning 5A Region 6 action at Loveland's North Lake Park with all seven lines qualifying.

Windsor brings six to state in Class 4A

The Wizards stormed to a regional title at Loveland's Class 4A Region 4 while qualifying six of seven possible lines.
