Love Story: John F. Kennedy Jr. and Carolyn Bessettebecame FX's most-watched limited series ever on streaming, bringing in more than 25 million hours viewed across its first five episodes on Disney+ and Hulu, perDeadline.

The anthology, originally known as asAmerican Love Story, is also not the first of its kind from showrunnerRyan Murphy. It follows suit with his other anthologies,American Horror Story,American Crime StoryandAmerican Sports Story, the first two which have released several seasons.

SinceLove Storyhas yet to be renewed for a sophomore season, there's no confirmation on which couple would take the spotlight next.

However, show creatorConnor Hinesteased which pairing he might explore next during a March 2026 conversation withVanity Fair.

When asked about the individuals he would be interested in focusing on for his next project, Hines suggested, "MaybeElizabeth TaylorandRichard Burton."

"They have the right intensity," he added.

The famous couple fell in love on the set ofCleopatrawhile both were married to other partners. Eventually, their passionate affair led them to leave their spouses and get married in 1964.

Taylor, whodied in 2011, and Burton, who died in 1984, got divorced in 1974, re-wed in 1975 and called it quits again less than a year later.

Other than Hines' comments about considering Taylor and Burton as his next couple to focus on, noLove Storycast or crew members — including Murphy — have spoken about a season 2.

Given that the limited series would focus on a completely separate love story from JFK Jr. and Bessette, it would likely be an entirely new cast.
