Miranda Soukup took inspiration from the new Taylor Swift album while brainstorming for her 2025 Halloween display
Soukup created the "Life of a Showghoul," which included skeleton versions of Swift and her fiancé, Travis Kelce
The Kansas City Chiefs star's brother, Jason Kelce, even called out the display on their New Heights podcast
Miranda Soukup has been a massive Taylor Swift fan for years. So, when the pop star announced her latest album, The Life of a Showgirl, in August, Soukup immediately started thinking about how she could incorporate it into her Halloween display.
"I immediately heard 'Showghoul,' and I started brainstorming that day and had about six weeks to brainstorm, plan, gather my display items and start putting it together!" Soukup tells PEOPLE. "My friend Michael and I had a shared note where he helped brainstorm old album puns with me."
Front and center, Soukup created a stage with a skeleton wearing a long blonde wig, dressed in showgirl attire and holding a microphone, which, of course, is Swift herself.

In addition to the "Life of a Showghoul" sign made of bones, she also included skeletons of Swift's fiancé, Travis Kelce, and his brother, Jason Kelce, hilariously labeled the "Killce" brothers. The two men are seen recording their "New Frights" podcast — a play on the brothers' New Heights podcast.
The display also featured versions of Swift's album covers replaced with skeletons and graves for people with whom the singer has feuded, such as Scooter Braun and Kanye West.
"About two weeks before the album release, my sister Ali and I started putting things together in my garage," Soukup shares. "Hot-gluing feathers, making the bone letters from spray foam, dressing the skeletons."

Soukup says she was on a time crunch, as she wanted to ensure the display was up and ready by the time Swift's album came out in early October.
"I wanted to make sure everything was in the front yard by Oct. 1, so that the local Swifties could come celebrate and enjoy the display by the Oct. 3 release date," she explains.
The two pulled it off in the nick of time, setting up skeletons and adding finishing touches in the dark two days before the big release.

The Minneapolis native shares that most of the things she used for the display were already in her possession. She sourced other items from her local Buy Nothing group, such as headphones for the Kelce brothers, bling earrings for Swift, wood pallets for the stage and pool noodles that Soukup cut up into an oversized friendship bracelet.
"The blue dress that Taylor is wearing is actually a dress my sister bought for the Eras Tour," she shares. "The sparkly disco balls, shiny stage, and other spooky decor I already had from past parties."

More details of the Halloween display
"The majority of the money I've spent has been on the trinkets that I've set out for visitors," she adds. "My mom and sister have been working overtime to make 'Life of a Showghoul' bracelets, and I created laminated bookmarks of the spooky album covers I designed as takeaways."
Soukup notes that she's also working on a special Halloween night update, which includes a step-and-repeat photobooth for trick-or-treaters, as well as other Easter eggs from the album.
Soukup says that the response from people in the neighborhood and online "has brought me so much joy."
"I've had an endless flow of Swifties in my front yard coming to take photos, many in official merch already, or sparkly outfits!" she shares. "I have a sign outside with my Ring camera, asking visitors to take a video selfie with Taylor. I plan to make a compilation video of all the visitors at the end of the month."
In addition to visitors, Soukup's display has gotten national attention. On the New Heights podcast, Jason gave the display his "stamp of the week," and requested his "Jason Killce" skeleton have a beard — and Soukup happily complied.

The display continues to garner positive feedback from the Swifties, but more importantly, Soukup says it has provided a sense of community.
"There is something so joyous and unique that Swifties share, and everyone who went to the Eras Tour knows exactly what that feeling is like," Soukup says. "It goes to show that strangers can all enjoy something common and fun, even when we don't know each other personally."
