Move over, Halloween, because Willie Nelson is headed straight for Christmas! The country music outlaw, 92, just released a brand new holiday-themed track called "Christmas Love Song," and it's bound to bring folks joy and warmth just in time for the cold winter months.

Released on Friday, October 24, via Sony Music's Legacy Recordings, this soothing country ballad finds Nelson putting his signature storytelling vocals on display as lyrics capture the spirit of Christmas, and also bring to life the visuals of gift-giving and the love shared between two people.

In the song, Nelson pours his heart out to a romantic partner as he reveals there's a present wrapped under the tree that's near and dear to his heart. Without giving it away, fans are left to interpret for themself what neatly gift-wrapped item Nelson is excited to reveal to the one he loves most.

"This is my Christmas love song to you / It ain't a lot, but every word of it's true / It don't sparkle or shine, but it's one of a kind / And I put my whole heart into / This Christmas love song to you," Nelson sweetly sings throughout the pleasant sing-along chorus.

Nelson, who has often been affectionately referred to as The Red Headed Stranger, worked alongside producer and longtime collaborator Buddy Cannon to lay down studio vocals for the song. Meanwhile, newly-penned songwriting credits are shared between Country Music Hall of Famer Bill Anderson and tunesmiths Bobby Tomberlin and Marv Green.

Sonically, "Christmas Love Song" keeps it simple, letting Nelson's vocals take center stage as he strums his guitar Trigger over a delicate melody that features pedal steel, twinkling piano keys, and a traditional country beat by top-flight Nashville musicians. A standout on the track, however, is the contributions of musician Mickey Raphael, who lent his harmonica prowess to various portions of the track.

Fans Are Already Loving the Song

Nelson's "Christmas Love Song" has already stolen hearts for the holidays, with fans taking to the comments section of the YouTube video post for the song.

"I love it.. Not a song Willie has ever sung that I don't love," one person wrote, while another fan added, "Thank you Willie! This is very beautiful, I absolutely love this song."

A third person added, "Beautiful, just breathtaking. I love it. That's my favorite time of the year. It's Christmas…. Love you and love your music."

Willie Nelson Will Release a New Album Next Month

"Christmas Love Song" comes ahead of Nelson's upcoming 11-track studio album, Workin' Man: Willie Sings Merle. The forthcoming collection serves as a tribute project as it features Nelson putting his spin on a handful of Merle Haggard's self-penned classic country songs. Workin' Man: Willie Sings Merle arrives on Nov. 7.

This isn't the first time Nelson has celebrated Christmas with holiday music. He previously offered up his RIAA Platinum album, Pretty Paper, originally released in 1979 after Roy Orbison's performance of the title track became a hit. Additionally, the legendary icon released Christmas With Willie Nelson in 1994, Pancho, Lefty, and Rudolph in 1995, and Hill Country Christmas in 1997.

Look for a lyric video for "Christmas Love Song" on Nov. 18.
