Travis Kelce urged his ex-girlfriend Kayla Nicole to get off her phone in a resurfaced video of them when they were dating

Taylor Swift seemingly shaded Kelce's former girlfriend on the track "Opalite" from her new album, The Life of a Showgirl

Swift sings on the track, "You were in it for real, she was in her phone and you were just a pose"

Swifties didn't hesitate to search for proof that Taylor Swift's new "Opalite" lyrics might be throwing shade at Travis Kelce's ex-girlfriend Kayla Nicole.

After the 14-time Grammy winner made a few pointed references on her new album, The Life of a Showgirl, including one that referenced her fiancé feeling "alone" in past relationships, eagle-eyed Swift fans discovered a resurfaced clip they believe inspired the lyrics.

In a since-deleted video shared to X, per Page Six, Kelce and Nicole — whose on-again-off-again relationship lasted from 2017 to 2022 — seemed to get into a bit of an argument while sipping on glasses of wine.

"Just drink the wine so we can go," Kelce, 35, said in the clip, to which Nicole, 33, argued in a following video that she wouldn't have to "seek validation from a bunch of strangers on the internet" if "someone sometimes would pay attention" to her.

Kelce added in the video, "Oh, my god. Get off your phone. Get off your phone … You're not even drinking your wine anymore, can we go?"

As for the lyrics that Swifties are connecting to Kelce and Nicole's tense interaction? The reference appears on the album's third track "Opalite," which is a love song about the athlete.

"You couldn't understand it, why you felt alone / You were in it for real, she was in her phone and you were just a pose," Swift, 35, sings on the track.

The song continues: "And don't we try to love love? We give it all we got / You finally left the table, and what a simple thought / You're starving 'til you're not."

In an August episode of his podcast New Heights, Kelce revealed that the song is one of his favorites from Swift's new album. "I think 'Opalite' might be my favorite, at least right now. Every time it comes on, I always catch myself," he said at the time.

Nicole previously received backlash after unfollowing Kelce's teammate Patrick Mahomes in October 2023, shortly after his wife Brittany Mahomes stepped out for a dinner with Swift in New York City.

"I do think it's important to publicly address this because I did publicly unfollow people," Nicole told PEOPLE at the time. "The reality is I know these people in real life. And so, in real life, I've communicated to these people why I've had to publicly make the decisions that I made."

"What an honor to share a table with some of the most iconic 'girlfriends' of all time," Nicole captioned an Oct. 3 Instagram post. "Women whose art has been a mirror and a reminder of what's possible at every stage of my womanhood."

Additionally, in a post on her Instagram Stories on Oct. 3, Nicole shared a clip from an episode of America's Next Top Model. In the clip, host Tyra Banks asked contestant and eventual winner Eva Marcille, "How do you compare yourself to the other girls out there?" Marcille responded, "I don't compare myself to other girls ... I'm no comparison to anyone else."
