The Asset, a Danish thriller series that hit Netflix on Oct. 27, follows Tea Lind (Clara Dessau), a struggling police cadet with one last chance to prove herself worthy of joining the force.
She's tasked with a dangerous mission for Denmark's Security and Intelligence Service (PET) that involves going undercover to get close to Ashley (Maria Cordsen), the glamorous gal pal of a drug lord, Miran (Afshin Firouzi).
But the deeper Tea delves into Ashley's life, the more personal the assignment becomes. And when it becomes clear that Ashley and her daughter are in real danger, Tea has to decide whether to follow orders or risk everything to save them.

The Asset wastes no time dropping viewers into its dangerous underworld.
Tea is approached by PET and tasked with infiltrating the criminal empire of Miran, a ruthless criminal posing as a businessman. To get close to him, Tea must befriend his girlfriend, Ashley, who will do anything to protect Sofia (Lara Ly Melic Skovgaard), the daughter she shares with Miran.
What begins as a straightforward assignment quickly turns into something more personal. The closer Tea gets to Ashley, the harder it becomes to separate her job from her empathy.
While PET insists on gathering evidence at any cost, Tea is the one paying the price. They force her to stay even as her cover story starts to collapse. It comes to a head when Miran's brother, Bambi (Arian Kashef), is murdered. Paranoia and suspicion follows, and Tea begins fearing for her life.

Danger rears its head in the season finale, "What Was Your Name Again?." In the aftermath of Sofia being taken away from Ashley and Miran (a move orchestrated by PET), Tea breaks cover and tells Ashley that she's been working as an undercover agent.
Ashley is completely betrayed, having lost both her daughter and a friend. Still, she realizes the severe danger she's in, so she agrees to work with PET and tell them everything about Miran's operation.
During an interrogation, Ashley admits she's helped Miran run drug shipments at least a dozen times. At home, she elicits a confession from Miran as PET listens in. He tells her he killed the man responsible for Bambi's death, but swears he's finished with his criminal life.
That night, Ashley calls Tea to say she can't go through with the plan. She insists that Miran is a "good man" who "doesn't deserve this." Tea, knowing how deep Miran's criminal activities go, tells Ashley it's the only way she can get Sofia back safely.

Yes, but not without peril. Miran grabs Ashley's phone as she's talking to Tea, and Ashley quickly admits to making a deal with PET. She reveals to Miran that PET has been spying on them this whole time through Tea, and he is speechless.
Ashley repeatedly apologizes, but it does nothing to calm down Miran. Soon after, the police raid their home. Ashley is taken into custody, but Miran manages to escape.
He manages to track down Tea, threatening to kill her. Tea begs him to surrender, warning him that PET plans to imprison both he and Ashley, which will leave Sofia without either parent. Tea urges him to turn himself in and clear Ashley's name. Eventually, he does.
While in custody, Miran tells authorities that he kept Ashley as his prisoner and forced her to work for him. As a result, Ashley is released and reunited with Sofia.

One month later, Ashley and Sofia have moved into a new apartment and are ready to start the next chapter of their lives. Tea even visits them, but Ashley scolds the agent for upending their lives and taking away Miran and the life he provided for their family.
Later, while playing with Sofia, Ashley discovers one of her daughter's toys has a hidden key. It leads her to a storage unit filled with Miran's money and drugs. The episode ends before we can see what Ashley does next. Will she abscond with the money — or take up Miran's operation herself?

Due to the mission's success, PET offers Tea a permanent place with the agency, but she turns it down. Tea then meets with her former PET contact, Yasin (Soheil Bavi), who tries to convince her to accept the job.
As they drive off, the pair's conversation is cut short when two gunmen on a motorcycle open fire on them. Tea gets shot, but Yasin gets her to a hospital and she survives.
When Tea wakes up, she learns from Yasin and PET director Folke (Nicolas Bro) that the attackers are still in the wind. The episode ends there, leaving fans in the dark about what's next and if Tea plans on hunting down the mysterious assassins.
