What else would you expect when National Taco Day lands on a Taco Tuesday?
Taco Bell is celebrating the food holiday with its "biggest" Taco Tuesday drop of the year, according to a Wednesday, Oct. 1, announcement by the brand. The deal-filled day lands on Tuesday, Oct. 7, and there are hourly discounts for hungry fans to celebrate.
Every other hour from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. PST, customers will have the opportunity to score $1 Cantina Chicken Soft Taco. That gives fans four opportunities (11 a.m., 1 p.m., 3 p.m. and 5 p.m.) to snag the near-freebie. But, you'll want to act quickly when the clock strikes every other hour, as there are only 25,000 available for redemption during each drop.
Reward members will find the hourly deal on the Taco Bell app when they click "Claim Reward" and there is a limit of one $1 taco per drop.
The taco is part of the Cantina Chicken menu released in 2024. It features slow-roasted chicken with Mexican spices, avocado ranch sauce, cheddar cheese, pico de gallo, shredded purple cabbage and iceberg lettuce wrapped in a soft tortilla. Plus, tacos come with a packet of avocado verde salsa, which is made of tomatillos, green chili peppers and avocado.
There are other more-limited drops on National Taco Day, too. At 9 a.m., 500 fans can get a National Taco Day t-shirt. Then at 7 p.m., 100 lucky customers will get a year of Taco Tuesdays on Taco Bell, which comes in the form of a $160 gift card.
National Taco Day landing on a Tuesday is no longer an anomaly, thanks to Taco Bell. Last year, the fast food restaurant worked with National Day Calendar to make National Taco Day always land on a Tuesday.
