Jonathan Trott says his 'brave' Afghanistan players will go out against England on Wednesday trying to bring joy to their country. Many of their high profile male cricketers, including the world's best-ever Twenty20 bowler Rashid Khan, have spoken out in support of equal rights after their women's team fled the country in fear of their safety after female participation in sport was outlawed by the Taliban regime. Earlier this year, nearly 200 MPs petitioned for England to boycott the Group B Champions Trophy fixture at the Gaddafi Stadium, but the ECB insisted unilateral action was not as strong as the global game taking a stance and asked the ICC to take a more proactive approach.
