NRL legend Mario Fenech has been pictured putting himself through a strength and conditioning program as the much-loved footy star steps up his battle with dementia. The South Sydney Rabbitohs legend, who celebrated his 62nd birthday in November, suffers from memory loss and has the brain of an 80-year-old after being diagnosed with early-onset dementia eight years ago. He now has suspected advanced chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE), a progressively debilitating brain condition caused by repeated blows to the head and concussions.
