The roof of Tropicana Field, home of the Tampa Bay Rays, was ripped apart as Hurricane Milton tore into Florida on Wednesday night. The ballpark had been transformed into a base for around 10,000 first responders and emergency service personnel as the state braced itself for devastation. The field was packed with rows of green beds before the Category 3 storm hit the coast, producing winds of up to 120mph and several hurricanes across the state.
